This study philosophically analyzes whether the development and use of GMO crop technology can be ethically justified. First, it examines the utility of GMO crops in food security and population support from a utilitarian perspective, and presents counterarguments regarding long-term health risks and incomplete safety verification. Second, it critiques Bacon's anthropocentric view of nature and discusses the unpredictable impacts of GMO crops on ecosystems. Finally, from the perspectives of critical posthumanism and environmental ethics, it emphasizes the interconnectedness of humans and nature, and concludes with the necessity of a cautious approach to GMO crops.
