주자학의 철학적 특징과 동아시아 사상에 미친 영향

본 연구는 송대 신유학의 집대성자인 주자(朱熹, 1130-1200)의 사상체계와 그 역사적 영향을 종합적으로 분석한다. 주자의 천(天) 사상, 리기론(理氣論), 심성론(心性論), 수양론(修養論) 등 핵심 철학 개념들을 체계적으로 고찰하고, 주자학이 원나라와 일본을 포함한 동아시아 지역의 사상 발전에 미친 영향을 규명한다. 특히 주자가 도가와 불교를 비판하면서도 그들의 사상적 자산을 창조적으로 수용한 과정을 분석함으로써, 신유학의 형성 메커니즘과 역사적 의의를 밝힌다. 본 연구는 주자학이 단순한 유교 전통의 계승을 넘어 형이상학적 체계화를 통해 동아시아 사상의 지적 토대를 제공했음을 논증한다.

This study comprehensively analyzes the philosophical system of Zhu Xi (朱熹, 1130-1200), the synthesizer of Song Dynasty Neo-Confucianism, and its historical influence. The research systematically examines Zhu Xi's core philosophical concepts including his theory of Heaven (天), the relationship between Principle and Material Force (理氣論), psychology and human nature (心性論), and self-cultivation (修養論). Furthermore, it clarifies the impact of Zhu Xi's philosophy on the intellectual development of East Asian regions including Yuan Dynasty and Japan. By analyzing how Zhu Xi critically engaged with and creatively appropriated Daoist and Buddhist thought while maintaining Confucian orthodoxy, this study reveals the formation mechanism and historical significance of Neo-Confucianism. The research demonstrates that Zhu Xi's philosophy provided the intellectual foundation for East Asian thought through metaphysical systematization, transcending mere inheritance of Confucian tradition.
