This paper systematically analyzes copyright issues arising from the rapid development of generative artificial intelligence (AI). As of 2026, it examines legal issues caused by diverse outputs generated by AI systems such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Suno, including text, images, music, and video content. The study comparatively analyzes case law and legislative trends in major countries including the United States, European Union, and South Korea. Five key issues are identified: copyright infringement during AI training phases, recognition of copyright protection for AI-generated works, substantial plagiarism through style imitation, ambiguity in liability attribution, and conflicts between creator protection and innovation promotion. Through domestic and international case analysis, five improvement directions are proposed: reinforcement of the 'human authorship' principle, clarification of fair use scope, strengthening of AI-generated content labeling requirements, establishment of clear liability attribution systems, and balancing creator protection with innovation promotion. This research provides policy implications for the sustainability of content ecosystems including the publishing industry.
