돼지 후보돈의 성성숙과 최적 번식 시기에 관한 연구

본 연구는 돼지 후보돈의 성성숙 과정과 최적 교배 시기를 분석하였다. 돼지의 성성숙은 일반적으로 6~8개월령에 도달하며, 품종, 기후, 온도, 체중, 성장률, 영양 등 다양한 요인에 영향을 받는다. 연구 결과, 과도하게 이른 교배는 산자수 저하, 재귀발정일 증가, 임신 실패 등의 문제를 야기할 수 있으며, 반대로 너무 늦은 교배 역시 번식 실패와 난산의 위험이 있음을 확인하였다. 최적의 교배 시기는 230~240일령, 체중 135kg 이상일 때로 제안된다.

This study analyzed the sexual maturation process and optimal breeding period of pig gilts. Sexual maturity in pigs generally occurs around 6-8 months of age and is influenced by various factors such as breed, climate, temperature, weight, growth rate, and nutrition. The results confirmed that excessively early breeding can cause issues like reduced litter size, increased return to estrus, and pregnancy failure, while late breeding also poses risks of reproductive failure and dystocia. The optimal breeding period is proposed as 230-240 days of age and over 135kg in body weight.
